Tour Highlights

Many of Europe’s great artists were drawn to Provence and its scenery features in works by the likes of Picasso, Van Gogh and Monet.  Here you can view many of those works in the region where they were painted while also visiting many of the locations that provided their inspiration such as Arles and Avignon.

Sample Itinerary

Day 1: Flight to Marseille, visit to the Pont du Gard aqueduct, transfer to hotel and check in.

Day 2: Visit to Musée Granet housing art collections by  CézannePicasso, Monet and Renoir, guided walking tour of the Old Town of Aix in Provence following in the footsteps of Cézanne.

Day 3: Guided walking tour of Arles to include places captured in works by Van Gogh such as Café de la Gare and the “Yellow House”, Van Gogh’s home and studio, visit to Roman amphitheatre in Arles, possible visit to Espace Van Gogh Museum

Day 4: Visit to Musée des Beaux-Arts de Marseille, possible boat tour from Marseille Old Port

Day 5: Return flights to the UK

    All Nimrod Art History tours include the following elements as standard:

    • Return flights as detailed in itinerary
    • All departure taxes
    • All coach transportation as required by your itinerary (except where otherwise stated)
    • Half-board accommodation in multi-bedded rooms for students, twins for adults
    • Single room supplements for staff travelling on free places up to a maximum of 4
    • Organisation of all excursions (NB. All admission fees ARE included unless specifically stated)
    • Services of a local representative in resort (NB. Full-time Nimrod tour manager available on request for all destinations)
    • Free places for accompanying staff on a ratio of 1:10 for student tours, 2 free places for adult tours (extra free places can be included at additional cost)
    • Local tourist taxes and coach permits where required
    • UK VAT where applicable

    The following elements are NOT included in any of our prices:

    • Meals en-route/Lunch each day (full-board accommodation available on request)
    • Drinks with meals (other than breakfast)
    • Personal and medical travel insurance (we would be pleased to assist you in organising insurance for your group if you do not already have insurance in place)
    • UK airport transfers (we would be happy to arrange these for you at a small supplement if required)

    At Nimrod Festivals & Tours, your safety while participating on any our of tours is of paramount importance to us. 

    All our suppliers are obliged to meet local licensing and safety standards. 

    We carry out inspections of the facilities we use at least every three years to ensure that they continue to meet our strict standards. 

    Safety is always our first priority which means that we take the utmost possible care in selecting our suppliers and in planning your itinerary. 

    We are also happy to render every possible assistance to Group Leaders for the purposes of completing Risk Assessments from providing information on our services to helping you plan a pre-tour inspection visit.

    We are happy, of course, to provide any additional documentation with regard to our Public Liability Insurance, Safety Management System or bonding for example, such as you may require for the purposes of completing Risk Assessments.
